The Suzuki Hayabusa takes on Jaisalmer’s long long straights...OverDrive (Sept. ’09) gives a blow by blow account.
When the Hayabusa was tested at the beginning of 2009, there was not a soul who was not taken in by its considerable charm, ability and friendliness. On test now in Rajasthan on arrow-straight roads that run for miles, with zero traffic, great tarmac, superb visibility and its an absolute mecca for throttle-stretching.
The Hayabusa of course is at home in this environment. Despite it being 45 degrees out, the coolant temperature needle never crosses half, the speeds never flag and because you are seated in such comfort, the pace does not have to be held up by the fragile human being in the saddle. The big torquey engine is always ready to go faster still and you roll off because you feel slightly guilty of running at this incredible pace for so long with such ease....
