The Apache is one of OverDrive’s (Feb. ’09) favourite 150s for its outright performance, unbeatable bottom end grunt and top end rush. And with the arrival of the fuel injected RTR Fi – gruffness and engine vibrations seem to be sorted out.
The new bike feels remarkably smoother and the throttle response is crisper, thanks to the precise fuel metering offered by the fuel injection system. There is no remarkable difference in performance though, says OverDrive (Feb. ’09), as there is hardly any difference in the state of tune between the carbureted and the fuel injected versions. The bike is relatively fuel efficient too, delivering 52.1kmpl in a combined usage cycle.
Visually, the obvious distinction is the special orange paint job, exclusive for the Fi, the broken pattern for the racing stripe that runs from the front fender to the tank, the tank shrouds and the cool blue backlight on the LCD counter.
