CONCLUSION:
In
the final analysis, with the 93 kph top speed, the overtaking ability,
the excellent fuel average, and the sheer rideability, the energy
FX comes out better than almost any other bike in this class. What
with the FAT (100/90) rear tyre, the BIG bike looks, the FX is a
modifier's dream come true. You can do the maximum modifications
at minimum cost. At the cost of sounding kinky, the best thing I
liked about this bike is the "Mandrake-the-Magician" eyelights
on the headlamp fairing and the worst thing I disliked is the cusp
of the seat. I am going to slice off the rear (pillion) portion
of the seat and make it flat like the old RX 100 seat - and to hell
with whoever sits behind me!
The price (on 10 April.2002) of the Energy FX as tested, without
self start (SS) or disc brake, on-road Pune is Rs.48,445/- which
includes RTO and insurance. Just for general knowledge, the price
of the bare (no disc, no SS) LML Adreno FX is Rs.49,355/-. Price
with SS (but no disc), the Energy FX costs Rs.51,872/- and the Adreno
FX costs Rs.52,776/-.
The fully loaded Adreno FX, with SS and disc costs Rs.56,325/-.
The Energy FX is not available with a factory fitted disc option.
However, for those who want a disc, after- market Pricol disc brake
is available for Rs.6,000/- all inclusive. All prices given above
are on-road in Pune, as on 26/2/2002 and include RTO and insurance.
