On
our fuel runs within the city and on the highway, we found the Activa
just about snatching away the consumption cup from the Saffire. This
is quite possibly due to the fact that the three-speed automatic gearbox
of the Saffire keeps the scooter in 'second' during climbs. The transmission,
however, can be fooled into locking into third by lightening up on
the throttle just before you reach the gearchange speed (around 24-27kph).
While the Kinetic returned 34.2kpl in the city and 39.1kpl on the
highway, the Saffire delivered 45.6kpl and 46.2kpl, with the Activa
coming out tops with 45.9kpl and 47.1kpl.
