Run
a marathon at a 100kmph and still have enough grunt to run
a sprint
The
most powerful engine in the country undoubtedly delivers Performance that is class leading.
After a series of measured tests the Aquila comes across
as the fastest and quickest motorcycle in every category.
Unleashing
all 26 horses takes the Aquila to a top blast of a 122.6
kmph which makes it the fastest bike available in the country
after the demise of the Yamaha RD350 and the BMW F650 Funduro.
Once the engine goes through its run-in period and its first
service expect this figure to go up a few notches more.
Acceleration too makes every other production bike pale
beside the figures posted by the Aquila. 0-60kmph takes
just 4.97 secs whereas the run from 0 to 100kmph is covered
in 14.13 secs. Quarter mile runs take 19.14 secs at 109.36kmph.
One must consider that the Aquila weighs in the heaviest
at a 180 kilos kerb weight and runs a very fat rear section
tyre inspite of which she records such superlative figures.
The Aquila however isnt not going to be called on for trackday
events and it is her cruising abilities which expound her
qualities. For that matter the Aquila can keep the wheels
rolling at a steady 100 odd kmph all day long with still
some power in store for those last minute overtaking manouveres.
And this where the torque comes into play. 30-70kmph in
third is covered in just 9.37 seconds, in fourth 9.73 seconds
and fifth takes 12.16 seconds. These times are amazingly
fast for a bike of her proportions and with just a slight
whip on the throttle you can be way past lumbering traffic
in a jiffy.
Braking is yet another brilliant aspect of her abilities.
A huge 280mm drilled disc to reduce weight and increase
efficiency on the front end is activated by a twin-pot calliper
unit and a 160mm drum at the rear can shed the kmph mighty
quick. Hauling her down from 60kmph takes just 24.92m in
3.11sec. Though pretty impressive, the braking should be
dealt with cautiously since the antiquated ribbed front
tyre loses traction under braking. Kinetic could look into
fitting a front patterned tyre that would provide more traction
besides improving brake feel. |
