Hydraulically
damped telescopic shocks do duty at the front. The rear
makes do with 5-stage adjustable shocks. The ride of the
M80 is on the firmer side that makes hammering down rural
roads prerogative of the very dumb. Ride on regular roads
is pretty good but do try and avoid ruts and potholes. Let
the front wheel into a couple of potholes and your shoulder
is sure to shriek in protest. Hopefully the ride will improve
once the forks free up. The M80 rides on 2.25 and 2.75 Dunlops
front and rear shod on 17inch rims. Levels of grip provided
are on par for intended usage.
The step through chassis of the M80 has been strengthened
and this is evident in its relatively flex free nature.
The 40mm increase in wheelbase goes a long way in improving
handling of the bike. Straight line stability is good while
handling is no less impressive. The low saddle height and
90kg kerb weight add up to make her a neat handler. All
one needs is a little footpeg weighting and she will happily
scrape her splashguard. The flex-free chassis and wallow-free
lean angles that can be indulged in are confidence inspiring.
