Enticer and Eliminator
  Page 5

Come to think of it, it’s been quite some time since the Eliminator was launched but I am yet to hear of an Eliminator club anywhere in the country, or Eliminator aficionados revving out on Sunday morning cruises. Touring still seems to be solely a Bullet-user’s preserve. Which brings one to the rather obvious conclusion that most Eliminator buyers are more in it for the posing rather than touring, in show rather than go.

Eliminator and Enticer fuel tanksSo finally we come to the styling of the bikes, with tremendous attention being lavished on both bikes. The Eliminator was and is still a visual treat, what with all the detailing and ornamentation. Due care and attention has been lavished on every little component and it shows in the overall turnout. The chrome strip on the tank incorporating the telltale lights and fuel flap looks stunning, the machine top yoke, mega phonic silencer, elaborate sissy bar, artfully bulged fuel tank, kicked out forks all make the bike a stunner.

The Enticer does not lag behind in the style stakes and is a poser’s delight. She retains the low-slung look popularized by wannabe cruises the world over. Attention to detail too is impressive and the bike abounds with delicate touches like the front number plate holder and even the sissy bar.

Styling is a personal issue and what’s artful for one could be eyesore for another. I shall refrain from elaborating too much and instead leave you to draw your won conclusions from the visuals. Needless to say, both bikes are stunners in their own right.

What's in a Name

A lot, apparently. The Enticer was first christened the Royal Star, a propah name for the cruiser-types. Yamaha also uses this name for her cruisers in internatinal markets.

However problems arouse from a most unexpected quarter, from Royal Enfield Motors! The Royal in REML being a registered trademark, Yamaha foresaw legal hassles and so decided to play it safe and rename the bike.

And so the Royal Star became the Enticer. A very poor name swap though, I must add.

Butt Warmers

Both these cruisers sport excellent butt warmers. The Enticer seat (right) looks plush with the buttons while the Eliminator sports an elaborate and usable sissy bar (left).
