  Chassis & Suspension

The tubular step-thru chassis appear similar to that of the Kinetic Honda but there are detail differences to accommodate the four-stroke engine and also the mount for the rear suspension. Suspension is by means of twin leading links in front coupled with a single shock layout at the rear (using the engine/tranny unit as the swingarm). One of the key aspects of the design has centred around making the scooter user-friendly for as many potential users as possible, ranging from youngsters to office goers, grand oldies to the fair sex and who know what others. To achieve this aspect the company focused on achieving good manoeuvrability and controls and they have worked at redistributing the weight around. The battery, condenser, black box plus other electrical bits and pieces find themselves housed on a subframe attached to the frame downtube making for a near ideal 40:60 weight distribution.

The Activa rides on 3.00x10 inch MRF Nylogrip tyres which feature the Tuffup double-layered tubes which can seal up small and medium sized punctures and yet allow the scooter to keep moving. The 130mm dia drum brakes make for positive sureshot retardation and are quite simply the best brakes on any Indian scooter to date barring those on the Saffire and the Legend NXT.
