  Fuel Efficiency

Not many machines deliver as per claims by the manufacturer but the Activa surprisingly does that and on occasion betters the claims! But that is because of the sensible feet-on-the-ground approach resorted to by its maker! The company claims a 50kmpl figure for regular city driving conditions which is curious considering the two-stroke Kinetic scooters also suggest the same.

With our chief test rider Aspi Bhathena at the helm, the Activa returned 56.7kmpl in our city driving cycle with a light throttle treatment. This dipped to just around the 47.5kmpl mark when the wick was turned up but then the 47 to 56kmpl band is pretty good given the driveability and the power delivery. With a six-litre fuel tank capacity the Activa rider has a near 300km operating range meaning fewer trips to the fuel station. Of course long term sustainability is to be determined and we will have a scooter on just such a long term test being added to our fleet soon.
