  Fuel Efficiency

No pain, no gain is an oft-used maxim in our business and it is in the Fuel Efficiency that the Energy and Adreno lag somewhat behind their rivals from Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto. A number of factors conspire in this and ironically these are the same which contribute to their fine Performance and road manners: larger proportions, higher kerb weight, high rolling resistance from the larger rear tyre, etc. I managed to extract a best Fuel Efficiency figure of 61kmpl for the Adreno and a 62.1kmpl figure for the Energy but in hard city riding in and around Pune city both bikes ended up delivering 48.6kmpl. Nevertheless thanks to their 14-litre fuel tanks - again the largest in class alongwith the Kawasaki Caliber - both the Energy and Adreno have a very high operating range.
