The
least in its class, LML had better start making revisions
here.
Covering over 300km on a single day with varying road conditions
was the ideal means to get the actual efficiency figures
in addition to the measured tests. So after NCAT, we headed
off to Panshet dam, 50km from Pune city. At the end of the
day, the Adreno FX returned a best figure of 64kmpl and
the worst she managed was 48km to the litre. The Energy
FX returned a best 64km to the litre, at worst she managed
46kmpl. The large fuel tanks accommodate 14 litres which
should give an operating range of 784kmpl and 742kmpl respectively.
The broad tyre at the rear which increases rolling resistance,
the drag inducing front fairing of the Adreno, the high
kerb weights of the bikes compared to others in its class,
all add up to the lower efficiency figures. The torquey
nature of the bikes with its cruising capabilities in higher
gears does nothing to increase efficiency figures. When
we replaced the 100/90x18" rear tyre of the older Energy
with smaller 3.00x18 MRF rubber, the mileage increased by
about 10 per cent without compromise on handling or Performance.
We will do the same with the new bikes.
