LML Adreno & Energy
  Style & Build

We said they were going the Hero Honda way; yes, they are definitely trying hard to take the competition to the cleaners.

At first sight I would not go so far as to call the Adreno FX good looking. What she displays is oodles of style more as individual statement. Till a few months ago there was nary a bike sporting let alone a hint, even half a fairing. Improving on oversights of the past LML has closed gaps in the fairing with a matte black trim. With cool Malibu Blue body paint adorned with racy graphics, the bike exudes a surefire sporty image for the average Joe. The other paint options are even jazzier what with names like Ferrari Red, Barkha Green and Night Raider - an imaginative copywriter at work here, for sure!

I roll the Adreno off the side stand using the improved and classy matte black grabrail to ease it around in the direction I am headed. The Energy FX still employs the older steel rod for a grabrail. With the side stand down the interlocking of the gearshifter prevents the rider from engaging gear, a welcome safety device. This attention to detail reflects LML's dedication to bikers' welfare. Umpteen clicks and whines after I give up on the electric starter and make do with the kick.

The CDI ignition fires the engine instantly to life. The dull throb from the upswept exhaust sounds like distant thunder. A major drawback of the old bikes was the antiquated switchgear they came with. Not any longer, there is change for the better. The better styled switchgear unit now incorporates a flasher, engine kill switch and push to cancel indicator switch in addition to the starter switch on the Adreno. There is good beam spread from the 12V 35/35W headlamp bulb that is powered by a 12V 7Ah battery charged by a rather large 129W alternator. The Energy employs a smaller 12V 2.5Ah battery.

We're off, with Sirish on the Energy FX, Aspi and photographer Suresh in the car with the test equipment. We are on full throttle and the dull greyhound paint job of the Energy FX with Sirish astride makes a stark contrast to the red glow of the sky. The tubular frame open to view enhances its brute muscle bike look.

The build quality of the bikes, already proved by the older siblings, is further endorsed after the hard rides to 'Nagar and Panshet dam area.
