Fuel
Efficiency: Not bad at all!
The bit about the lack of time to run-in the bikes also
can be applied to the Fuel Efficiency of both the bikes and even though we did monitor Fuel
Efficiency for the entire 600km plus duration, I
am sure that with proper running-in we will have a far
more representative set of consumption figures. But just
for the count I would like to report on what both bikes
recorded in the guzzling stakes. The Pulsar 150 delivered
a best of 54.9kmpl and a worst of 40.5kmpl, the latter being
in our flat-out highway mode, making for a mean consumption
figure of 47.7kmpl. The Pulsar 180 though recorded a best
of 50.4kmpl and a worst of 36kmpl making for a mean of 43.2kmpl.
Not earth shattering but not disgraceful figures either.
To be honest though for bikes of their class which invite
the rider to wring their throttles open, such figures are
highly complementary. Taken with their Performance capability and the 18-litre petrol capacity, both bikes
can comfortably do around 790km plus on a single tankful.
