Then there are the unquantifiable factors - feel, riding pleasure and resonant exhaust note that go a long way into making the Activa a joy to ride. Topping it all is pricing that makes her cheaper than both the ageing Kinetic scoots.

The second spot is a close tie between the Kinetic Marvel and Bajaj Saffire. The Marvel boasts of better Fuel Efficiency and better Performance. The Saffire strikes back with superb looks, better ride quality and handling. What swings the balance towards the Saffire is the 7000-rupee premium that the Marvel demands over the Saffire. Which clearly isn't justifiable for a product that has aged and in many respects has been downgraded over time.

Fourteen years is a long time for any product and no amount of daft adverts (featuring a UFO landing on planet Earth to reclaim the Xenium engine... supposed to be advanced in time, ha ha) can alter its fate. In the face of modern and more accomplished rivals, the Kinetic Zoom ZX simply can't hold a candle. Time for the KiHo, sorry Zoom, to rest in peace?
