 The Class

Hero Honda CBZ Rs 52,284*
Capacity 156.6cc Power 12.62bhp Torque 1.27kgm
Max speed 113kph 0-60kph 5.31s

The CBZ remains to this day among the more reliable and fastest 150s out there. It is also a fine handler, even running a thicker 100/90 rear tyre than cousin Achiever's 3.00 x 18 inches. Yet, this Hero Honda feels an outdated bike today, and one wonders what's to become of this bold 150cc pioneer with the arrival of the Achiever.

TVS Fiero F2 Rs 46,080*
Capacity 147.5cc Power 12bhp Torque 1.15kgm
Max speed 108kph 0-60kph 6.25s
A smooth and efficient engine remains a highlight on TVS's F2, yet this four-speed older-generation 150cc bike today lags well behind the rest of its pack. But all is not lost. TVS, which plans to launch a new 150cc model, is all set to do battle with modern bikes such as the Achiever, Unicorn and Pulsar 150 DTS-i.

LML Graptor Rs 53,146*
Capacity 150.8cc Power 13.4bhp Torque 1.31kgm
Max speed 111kph 0-60kph 5.97s
LML's Graptor comes with styling, decent handling as well as raw power to match other members of the Indian 150cc club. But it fails to draw favour for lack of adequate build quality or refinement. We are not underestimating LML though — judging from the new CRD100, the company's next 150cc model could well be a killer.
