 Fuel Economy

SHYLOCK’S DELIGHT
Here’s where the tables abruptly change. Where the CT 100 was at a disadvantage earlier for its thinner tyre, Fuel Economy surely benefits from this profile. And the needle roller bearings for the valve train augment this gain.
Both bikes achieve good mileage in different ways — the CT 100 with its tall gearing and the Star with its rider-friendly ratios.
In the final analysis, they stand nearly shoulder-to-shoulder, though the CT 100 is slightly ahead. Plodding through city traffic, the CT 100 managed 60.9kpl where the Star came in at 60kpl. On the highway, the CT 100's tall ratios stretched
its advantage with a 67.1kpl figure to that of the Star's at 64.1kpl.
