This
shootout should have been a one-sided affair as the G5 hails from
a segment higher than the revised CT100. Yet, as it so happens,
life is full of surprises. In the styling department, the G5 with
its pleasing design and also more upmarket build quality socks
it to the CT100. While the rivals spar evenly with their engines,
the CT100 with its new Spring-In-Spring suspension clearly shows
the G5 the door. And, in the crucial Fuel
Economy stakes, the CT100 is more of a frugal sipper
with each litre of fuel. The new Bajaj CT100’s killer advantage
though lies in it being a more-than-comparable product despite
being priced far lower and belonging to a lower segment, which
leaves us in no doubt as to who wins. Yamaha clearly needs to
add more than mere cosmetics if it wishes to spice up the Libero-turned-G5.
